Martin LeWinter, M.D. is a graduate of Columbia University and the New York University School of Medicine. He is a cardiologist and Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. Formerly he was Director of the Cardiology Unit and remains active as a part-time clinician at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. His major practice interests are in heart failure, cardiomyopathy and pericardial disease. Dr. LeWinter has had long-standing, NIH funded laboratory research programs in cardiomyopathy, myocardial function and dysfunction, and the pathophysiology of pericardial disease.
